Signs you need AC service

Your AC usually gives you a warning before it quits completely. Here's what the common symptoms tend to mean:

  • Warm or weak air. Often a leak has let refrigerant escape. It can also be a compressor, clutch, fan or blend door problem.
  • Cold only while driving. If it cools on the highway but not at a stoplight, the condenser may not be getting enough airflow. A failing cooling fan or a low charge are common causes.
  • Noise when the AC is on. Grinding, rattling or squealing can come from the compressor, its clutch, or the belt that drives it.
  • Musty smell. Moisture can collect on the evaporator behind the dash and grow mold or bacteria.
  • Water on the floor. The evaporator drain may be clogged, so water ends up inside the car instead of dripping under it.
  • Rapid on-and-off cycling. The system may be low on refrigerant or have a pressure switch problem.

If any of these sound familiar, get it checked before a small leak turns into a failed compressor.

What to expect

Tell us what the AC is doing and when it happens. We test the system to find the actual cause instead of just adding refrigerant and hoping. You'll have an estimate within 48 hours, so you can decide before any work starts.

Our inspection and repair rate is $120 per hour for general vehicles and $150 per hour for custom cars. Minor repairs are usually done in 24 to 48 hours, and most work is finished within a week.

You're welcome to supply your own parts. Our warranty covers new parts for 60 days or 3,000 miles, and labor for 60 days or 3,000 miles. If your AC damage is part of an insurance claim, we can help with the paperwork.

Questions drivers ask us

Don't see yours? Call or text (316) 223-7293.

Why is my car AC blowing warm air?

The most common cause is low refrigerant from a leak. It can also be a failed compressor or clutch, a blocked condenser, a bad cooling fan, or an electrical fault. Testing tells us which one it is, so you don't pay for parts you don't need.

Can't you just add refrigerant?

An AC system is sealed, so low refrigerant means it's leaking somewhere. Topping it off without fixing the leak usually buys a few days or weeks at best. We find the leak first so the repair lasts.

Can I bring my own AC compressor or parts?

Yes. We welcome customer-supplied parts. Let us know the part number when you book so we can check that it matches your vehicle.

How quickly can you fix my AC?

You'll get an estimate within 48 hours. Minor repairs are usually done in 24 to 48 hours, and most work is finished within a week, depending on parts.
