Signs you need auto repair
Small symptoms usually show up before a breakdown. Book a visit if you notice:
- New noises. Squeals, clunks, rattles and grinding usually mean a part is worn or loose.
- Spots under the car. Brown or black is often oil, green or orange is often coolant, and red can be transmission or power steering fluid.
- Shaking or vibration. This can come from tires, brakes, suspension, engine mounts or a misfire.
- Warning lights. Any light that stays on deserves a look, and a flashing check engine light should be checked right away.
- Hard starting. Batteries, starters, fuel delivery and ignition problems can all make a car slow to start.
- Uneven tire wear. It often points to suspension or steering parts that are worn.
Most repairs cost less when they're caught early. A small leak is cheaper than an engine that ran low on oil.
