A full inspection covers the systems that matter most for safety and reliability:
- Brakes: pads, rotors, lines and fluid
- Steering and suspension components
- Tires and signs of uneven wear
- Fluid levels and leaks
- Belts, hoses and the cooling system
- Battery, starting and charging system
- Lights, wipers and exhaust
- Trouble code scan and a road test
Signs you need a full inspection
You don't need a problem to get an inspection. These are the most common reasons people book one:
- You're buying a used car. An inspection before you pay can turn up worn parts, leaks or stored codes the seller didn't mention.
- A road trip is coming. Finding a worn belt or thin brake pads in Wichita beats finding them on the highway.
- Warning lights are on. An inspection plus a code scan shows how the light fits into the bigger picture.
- Leaks, noises or vibrations. When you can't tell where something is coming from, a full look narrows it down.
- It doesn't feel right. Steering, braking or ride quality that's slowly gotten worse is easy to get used to.
- It's been a while. Kansas doesn't require a yearly safety inspection, so many cars go years without a close look.
What to expect
Tell us why you want the inspection. A pre-purchase check and a pre-trip check focus on slightly different things. Once the vehicle is in, we go through it system by system and road test it.
Inspections are billed at $120 per hour for general vehicles and $150 per hour for custom cars. If we find problems, you'll get an estimate within 48 hours. Minor repairs are usually done in 24 to 48 hours, and most work is finished within a week.
You decide what gets fixed. If you'd like to buy parts yourself, we welcome customer-supplied parts. Repairs come with a warranty of 60 days or 3,000 miles on new parts, and 60 days or 3,000 miles on labor. We can also help with insurance paperwork.
