What we do
- Trouble code scan and live data review
- Hands-on testing to confirm the cause before parts are replaced
- Road tests to reproduce the problem
- Electrical and wiring troubleshooting
- Diagnosis of problems that come and go
- A clear explanation of what we found and what it will take to fix
Signs you need diagnostics
Modern cars have dozens of sensors and computers, and one failed part can cause symptoms that look like something else. Bring your car in if you notice:
- A warning light. Check engine, ABS, battery or temperature lights all point to a system that needs a closer look.
- Stalling or hard starting. This can come from fuel delivery, ignition, sensors or the starting system.
- Loss of power. Hesitation or sluggish acceleration may be a misfire, a clogged filter, a sensor fault or a transmission issue.
- New noises or vibrations. Where the noise comes from, and when, narrows things down quickly.
- Strange smells. A sweet smell can mean coolant, a burning smell can mean oil or fluid on hot parts, and a fuel smell should be checked right away.
- Worse gas mileage. A sudden drop often has a cause, such as a sensor, a misfire, or a dragging brake.
Guessing gets expensive. Replacing parts one at a time until the problem goes away costs more than finding it first.
What to expect
Tell us what the car is doing, when it started, and what's been done to it recently. We start with codes and data, then test to confirm. You'll get an estimate within 48 hours that explains the problem and the repair.
Diagnosis and repair are billed at $120 per hour for general vehicles and $150 per hour for custom cars. Minor repairs are usually done in 24 to 48 hours, and most work is finished within a week.
If you'd rather buy the parts yourself once we know what's needed, that's fine. We welcome customer-supplied parts. Our warranty covers new parts for 60 days or 3,000 miles, and labor for 60 days or 3,000 miles. We can also help with insurance paperwork.
